Play Therapy
Child-Centered Play Therapy is a developmentally appropriate counselling approach designed to help children aged 3 to 12 years overcome challenges and develop essential life skills through the powerful language of play.
Children don’t often respond to counselling methods that work for adults. They process and communicate their inner world differently and perceive and interpret the world in a unique way compared to adults.

What is Play Therapy?
Play is the natural language of childhood. In Play Therapy, children are given a safe, nurturing space where toys, art, sand, music, and stories become their words. Through this process, they can express feelings, explore experiences, and share their inner world in ways that feel safe and natural.
With the presence of a trained play therapist, the playroom becomes a relationship of trust and acceptance. Here, children are supported to process big emotions, discover new ways of being, and strengthen their sense of self.
Play Therapy honours each child’s uniqueness. It nurtures emotional growth, confidence and wellbeing, while supporting families to communicate and relate more deeply - supporting change that lasts well beyond the therapy room.

Emotional Expression
Play gives children a natural way to communicate feelings they may not yet have words for, helping them feel heard and understood in a safe space.

Sense of Safety & Connection
The trusting relationship with the therapist creates a secure base where children can explore their inner world without fear of judgement.

Strengthening Self-Understanding
Through play, children can process life experiences and develop a deeper awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and unique ways of being.

Growth in Everyday Life
As children feel more confident in themselves, families often notice positive changes in communication, relationships, and overall wellbeing beyond the therapy room.
